Day 01 | Thursday | November 01| Welcome to the Land of Israel  journey begins

Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport and meet our representative upon arrival. Transfer to the first Hebrew Speaking city, Tel Aviv.

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and prepare yourself for the exciting days to come.

Day 02 |Friday | November 3 | From Ancient Jaffa to Tel Aviv New City

In the morning meet your tour educator and start the Israel Discovery tour with a tour of Old Jaffa and hear about those who walked these alleyways before you like Jonah and his Whale, Simon the Tanner, Andromeda and Napoleon.

Follow the Jewish inhabitants of Jaffa, who moved out of the old city to the north and established Neve Zedek one of Tel Aviv first neighbourhoods.

Day 3 | Saturday | November 3 |Heart of the White City and Ancient Harbor

Start the quiet Saturday morning touring the heart of the White City of Tel Aviv. A collection of over 4000 buildings designed and built by German Jewish architects who immigrated after the rise of the Nazis in the 1930s. The style is referred to  Bauhaus (or international Style), and Tel Aviv has the most significant number of these unique buildings in the world. In 2003, UNESCO proclaimed Tel Avis’s White City a World Cultural Heritage site, as “an outstanding example of new town planning and architecture of the early 20th Century. 

After lunch you continue north along the Mediterranean coastline to the ancient Herodian Harbour – Caesarea Maritime built King Herod the Great.

Day 4 | Sunday | November 4 | Western Galilee 

Start the day travelling to Rosh Hanikra and explore the magnificent Grottos carved by the sea and the railway tunnel that once serviced the trains to Beirut and Damascus and beyond.

Drive for an extensive visit to the Old City of Akko. Visit the fortified Ottoman City with its typical urban components such as the citadel, mosques, khans and baths. And, the remains of the Crusader town,

End the day at the Lower Galilee to visit the ancient site of Zippori. See how Jews and Romans lived side by side 2,000 years ago. 

Enjoy dinner at one of the Druze homes at the Village of Ossafia. Hear about this select group of Muslims, dating back to the 10th Century.

Day 5 | Monday | November 5 |Northern Annunciation and Jewish Mysticism.

Today we leave Haifa and cross the lush Galilee to the lower Galilee, and the city of Nazareth and the Mount of Precipice which offers a panoramic view of the Jezreel Valley and Mount Tait is here that an angry mob attempted to throw Jesus off the cliff after his bold proclamation in the Nazareth Synagogue. You will visit the Church of Annunciation and the Synagogue where He preached. 

Head to  Upper Galilee to visit Zfat – city of Mystical Judaism. With the Kabbalah Center explore the narrow alleyways lined with ancient synagogues and artists’ galleries.

End your visit to Zfat by unique experience at Zfat’s Ziv Medical Center. (pending confirmation) here is wher many Syrian refugees are being treated.

Day 6 |Tuesday | November 6 | Northern Miracles, Wetland and Golan

In the morning set out for a cruise across the Sea of Galilee and a visit to the 2,000 years old fishermen’s boat salvaged from the bottom of the Sea of Galilee.

Ascend to the Mount of Beatitude for a spiritual experience and meditation. Visit Capernaum, the hometown of Peter, where Jesus lived for three years after leaving Nazareth. You will enjoy a St Peters  Fish lunch

Continue eastward to the heart of Israel’s wetland, the Hula Valley. Visit the world renowned bird sanctuary, especially waterfowl, Agmon Ha’hula. Above the valley, over half a billion migratory birds travel each year south from Europe (Western and Eastern) to Africa, many of which chose to stay in the valley and enjoy Israeli hospitality.

Ascend the Golan Heights on the footsteps of the Israeli Army during the Six Day War. Stop at Tel Faher, to hear about the Golan Heights takeover and Israel’s Master Spy, Eli Cohen. From atop Mount Bental view deep into Syria and the Ghost Town of Quneitra.

Day 7 | Wednesday | November 7 | Masada Rocks and Walled City 

Depart the Sea of Galilee area and drive south along the Jordan River Valley and The Dead Sea. On your way south pause at Kasar-El-Yahud the official baptism site.

Travel along the shore of the Dead Sea to the World Heritage site of Masada. Ascend the cliff to see the different hideout palaces built by Herod the Great and the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their revolt against the Romans in the year 73 CE.

 Enjoy lunch at a Dead Sea SPA hotel and some time to relax

Following lunch continue to the northern shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran. Visit this unique site where the Essence settled and lived as a commune and where the Dead Sea Scrolls found.

On your return to Jerusalem stop to visit the oldest walled city in the world – Jericho. Tour the ancient Tel-A-Sultan (Arabic name of Tel Jericho).

Day 08 | Friday | November 9 | Jerusalem, the City of Peace 

In the morning meet your tour educator and driver and start the day with a visit to the Israel Museum to visit the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and view the Old City Model, as the City of Peace looked on the eve of the Great Revolt.

Continue with a visit to the Old City and walk the Old City Ramparts from Jaffa Gate to Zion Gate. Atop Mt Zion, see the site of King David’s Tomb, founder of Jerusalem 3000 years ago and the Upper Room, generally accepted as the Last Supper Hall. Enter the Jewish Quarter through Zion Gate as Jewish Warriors have done for generations, to visit the Cardo, a 1800-year-old shopping mall still in use today and the Broad Wall, remains of the First Temple Period city wall.

Descend the Western Hill to the City of David to discover the “original” Jerusalem. Walk through the dry Canaanite Tunnel, dug in biblical times to bring water to Jerusalem and through which David entered the city of the Jebusites when he conquered the city.

You may choose to walk the Hezekiah Tunnel that still runs water, knee-deep, although it is 2,800 years old. Walk Jerusalem from Under as you ascend to the Temple Mount via the ancient sewage system (fully excavated and cleared). Enjoy a spiritual visit to the Western Wall, the holiest place of the Jewish People and explore the Western Wall Tunnels

End the hectic Jerusalem day with the Light and Sound show at the David Citadel.

Day 9 | Friday |  November 9 |Vision, Remembrance and Welcome the Shabbat 

Start the day with a visit to the state-of-art Herzl Museum and hear about Herzl’s vision of establishing a Home for the Jewish People. Continue with a visit to the Holocaust Memorial site – Yad Vashem. Walk along the Avenue of the Righteous, tour the Historical Museum and the Children’s Memorial. Head to Machne Yehuda Market for tasting foodstuffs for lunch with a professional guide, or prepare your lunch after gathering food items at the market. See Jerusalem prepare for Shabbat with a visit to the colourful Machne Yehuda Market – lively with sounds and smells, from fruit to Arab coffee to flowers to spices to fresh Challah baked for Shabbat. In the evening join thousands of Jewish People of all ages and backgrounds heading to theWestern Wall, Judaism’s holiest place to welcome the Shabbat, followed by a traditional Shabbat meal at Jewish home

Day 10 | Saturday  | November 10 |Jerusalem of Gold and Bravery

Today the most spectacular view over the city of Jerusalem from atop the Mount of Olives. Descend to Gethsemane via the Chapel of Dominus Flevit and visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations Enter the Old City via St. Stephan’s Gate

Walk along the Via Dolorosa, from the Pools of Bethesda to a short visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Stroll the Old City alleys and explore the Oriental Bazaar (Suk), where haggling is an art form. Early after departing Jerusalem and drive to Ha’Ella Valley. View the region and better understand how biblical stories mesh with the lay of the land as you follow David and Goliath battle.

Continue to Beit Guvrin, the land of Bar Kochba and Rabbi Akiba. Explore the human-made caverns and caves including the columbarium and the magnificent bell caves.

End the day in the newly developing town of Yerucham where you will join local women in preparation of dinner

Day 11| Sunday  |November 11 | Desert Delights

In the morning drive to Sde Boker and pause at the grave of David Ben Gurion and learn about his dream to turn the desert green, do not forget to visit his home “Hut”. Drive further south more in-depth into the Negev Desert for a thrilling Jeep ride to the Desert Oasis of Ein Akev, Major Spring of Wadi Zin.

Continue to the Bedouin Village of Han Shayarot for a camel ride and Bedouin Hafla (lunch feast).

End the day in Tel Aviv, the city that never stops

Day 12 |Monday | November 12 | The City that Never Sleeps and Remembering the Brave

 Start the day by reliving history while gathering at Independence Hall where the State of Israel was born. Walk along the famous Rothschild Boulevard, pause at one of the many coffee shops to enjoy coffee and some pastry. Visit the small workshop, now a museum, of Joseph Bau and hear his daughters tell the family story, actually the story of Schindler’s List. End the tour at Rabin Square, pause and reflect on peace. In the afternoon drive to Holon to participate in Dialogue in the Dark.The dialogue in the Dark will be one a memorable experience during your time in Israel.You will go through simulations of a marketplace, a forest and even a boat all in complete darkness. It is a wonderful surprise, take a leap of faith and follow your guide using sound not sight.

In the evening meet with youth from the School of Young Ambassadors for “Square Table” discussions and farewell dinner.

Day 13 | Tuesday  | November 13 | Final Day Fly home

After a long day there what is not more appealing than a warm, comfortable bed, a spa or massage, or lovely meal accompanied by a glass of wine and meal. We provide accommodation style to meet our guest expectations including bed and breakfast, luxury hotel, tented safaris, Sicilian villas and casa particulars, with most hotel accommodation in boutique style hotel, however; we do on occasion stay in more luxurious popular chain hotels and resorts. Terms & Conditions

  • Prices are per person twin share. For the tour to be guaranteed, the must be minimum of 8 passengers booked.
  • Maximum number of people on this tour is 16
  • For those not choosing to make their way to Israel, Slice of Life tours takes no responsibility for late arrivals
  • Transfers are not included for those not travelling with the group.
  • All rooms are twin share; double beds cannot be guaranteed
  • Some tours may be on a join basis and not exclusive to the group.
  • A non-refundable deposit of $800.00 is required to confirm the booking and must be received at the time of booking (guest must take out insurance to cover any cancellations.
  • A 50% deposit must be paid 30 days after booking.
  • Final payment is due 90 days before departure
  • For late bookings, pending of the date of booking tour must be paid in full.
