Christine Cockburn – Founder of Slice of Life Tours
As the owner and creator of Slice of Life Tours, I have worked in the Travel and Aviation sector for over 25 years.
I have recently attained an Advanced Diploma in Travel and Tourism to achieve my dream of starting my own tour company for people like me who believe that travel is a necessity, not just a luxury – regardless of your age.
My motivation in developing and tailoring tours has stemmed from experiences of wanting to actively engage in a destination’s lifestyle while maintaining an air of comfort to make for a genuine travel experience. Slice of Life Tours brings together our love of travel, wealth of travel knowledge and experience by offering our guests all of these things in a single package.
Everyone under the Slice of Life umbrella has major input into the development of tours, making their journey authentic and unique; you will be guaranteed that your host is as passionate and excited about the tour as you are.
I am a great believer that the journey starts from the moment you make contact with us and that we offer you the best customer experience from the beginning to the end. We offer old-fashioned customer service and are available to talk to by phone or Skype and in person.
Lidia Dicosta – All things Sicilian
Lidia is Australian born with Sicilian heritage. Lidia has been leading tours to Sicily since 2012. Having discovered Sicily at the age of twelve when she visited with her parents and returning many times since to explore her origins, Lidia now shares all her knowledge and passion for Sicily and its rich heritage with others.
Slice of Life Tours is incredibly fortunate to have Lidia on board. As well as degrees in Nursing and Psychology, Lidia also has a Bachelor degree in Anthropology, adding much to your experiences of Sicily’s diverse past. Lidia loves nothing more to indulge her interest in history, art, people and their cultures, leading tours so she can pass on her wealth of knowledge to you. Oh! She is a pretty good street photographer as well; has an excellent insiders knowledge of the best places to eat away from the tourist areas so you can experience the real Sicily.
Lidia works very hard to make sure her tours are filled with beautiful offerings, including unique rural stays, cooking classes, boutique hotels, historical walks through winding cobblestone roads where centuries-old civilisations once walk.
